Outsiders

by MaeThomas   May 16, 2007

We sit outside the boundaries,
That mark the walls of town.
We smile at your blatant lies,
And wait till you go down.

Your cunning words are filthy,
With the mud you thought could cleanse
Even the foulest of your stories
That you spun to all your friends.

What do you do when the words you speak
Taste bitter on your tongue?
Who do you trust when all around
No one hears the tune you've sung?

Oh, no, this is it! Come face to face,
With the demons you did unleash.
Stare at the hounds of Hades
Watch them writhe and gnash their teeth.

You've brought this on your self,
No one told you what to do.
And only we will hear the screams
As we sing the song of you.
