Hope Found at a Distance

by XXXrusted silverXXXwas nvr good enough to be goldXXX   May 16, 2007

She looks into the distance,
A sky that's purple tinged in pink,
The sunlight embraces treetops,
As the beams fall away and shrink,
Trying to cling on a little longer,
As color fades to hues of zinc.

She looks into the distance,
The flowers opened up to light,
Will soon curl up in repulsion,
As upon them creeps the night,
Left to wilt and fade in the darkness,
Their chances of survival turned to trite.

She looks into the distance,
The sunset turns away,
Falling into oblivion,
With no will or strength to stay,
The beauty stole by time itself,
As dusk joins hidden with the day.

She looks into the distance,
As her hopes for tomorrow fade,
Stars don't offer her a comfort,
The moon is no fair trade,
If only life was paused in sunset,
And life wasn't concealed in shade.

She looks into the distance,
One day she'll no longer feel alone,
She'll find a comfort in her existence,
She won't pray to just be gone,
Someday she'll be contented,
A new meaning for life will be shown.

She looks into the distance,
Maybe her last day in the pain,
She comforts herself in prayer,
She asks that there's still strength to gain,
From taking a risk and making life work,
And her choices won't fall in vain.

She looks into the distance,
The sunrise is soon to come,
With it will come her new hope,
Only found in beautiful spectrum,
Then she can look into the distance,
And know where her love really comes from.

Oh, I love it. :) Good job! I understand it through even one word, - which is simply a good thing; it means you're using your words correctly. :P 5/5!
