Fire's Tears

by flitzywords   May 19, 2007

The trees rustling
Sunlight shafts stab down
Piercing the gentle shadows
Looking down
Gentle wildflowers crown the ground near my feet
Looking up
Falls fire engulfs the treetops
A single drop
Slips slowly down
And gently floats past my reverent hands
I reach out and catch this piece
Candle flame
And as i gaze at its bronze red skin
It crumbles
And fades
I slowly walk away
And an unnoticed tear slips its way
Down my motionless cheek
