See, Hear, Smell

by flitzywords   Jun 6, 2007

See the stars twinkle
See the roses unfold
See the raindrops falling
See the rising sun so gold

Hear the children's laughter
Hear the cry of delight
Hear the treetop's rustling
Hear the soft kiss goodnight

Smell the peanut butter just opened
Smell the fresh baked pie
Smell the gentle waft of perfume

You see, hear, and smell all this
But do you ever stop and wonder why

Living side by side with this beauty
Hidden away, set out of sight
Helplessness, fear
Anger, tears
Bottle and forgotten
Hidden from the light
