A Muse On The World

by Chris Rodriguez   May 19, 2007

To choose a moral stand
Between yourself and the creeping hand
The hand that squeezes because it doesn't understand
So to choose without sacrifice is to disconnect
Filling in the hole of spiritual emptiness
With drugs and booze
Thinking they cannot choose
Win or lose
Because when it seems we rose above the fire beam
We get knocked down by bullet streams

Rise above the fear
Keep your heart and mind clear
Take control and steer

You learn quick
If you don't succumb
You don't belong
Rise above it
Living in the truth of a million lies
Putting a muse on the sound of a million cries

A place where some carry crosses like murderers carry guns
All under one sun

There is no more choices than there is now
There is no more joy than there is now
Heaven and hell is here and we got to maintain
Not pass the blame

We're sucking the blood of gods veins
All I mark as my own you dethrone
All we rise for as one you spit on
You keep punching me down
I'll keep asking for more
