He told me

He told me he couldn't come over
because he had work
he told me there was no other
but he lied
he told me that it was the only time
but he had done it many times
he told me he loved me
but he didn't
i found all this out
because of the love of a friend

    "he told me there was no other
    but he lied"

    This was a really strong line, because it just goes to show that when you lie you end up getting caught out. In the end you've gotta ask yourself whether it is really worth it. Great poem
