Love and Friendship

You're my true friend because
when I need
someone to lean on and you were there

You're my true friend because
when I need
someone to wipe my tears and you were there

You're my true friend because
when I need
someone to talk with, you were there to speak up

Now, that I love you
could you still be there for me
not as my friend but an object of my affection
and adornment ?
