The Man In The Jumpsuit

by TheWorldFellNUWerentThere   Jun 3, 2007

The guy I love to death,
Is standing in a orange jumpsuit,
I see he's on the verge of tears,
When they read the verdict.

His chin starts trembling,
When they read guilty for each charge,
He shifts his feet,
Bowing down his head to pray.

I try to wipe away the tears,
So he won't see how hard I'm breaking,
But he catches me off guard,
And mouths "I love you."

I mouth it back,
As he bows his head again,
As the last verdict is stated,
I can't help but start sobbing.

The one who's been keeping me alive,
Is going away,
Two years seem like forever,
I'm torn in two.

I tell myself,
I need to carry through the two years,
So when he gets out,
He'll still seeing me standing but broken in places.

Only if he knows,
The emotional wreck I've carried myself through,
Only if he knows,
He means so much to me.

I'd take a bullet for him,
Even though I'm young,
I'd still knock out anyone,
Who gets in his way.

We've been through a lot,
But sometimes I just have to understand,
He's doing time for the better,
To be a changed man when I next see him.

I love you -- *R.P.T.S* -- my cousin && forever my HERO
