He takes away my heart aches

by Valiantpenguin   Jun 5, 2007

I stand in the rain
wind blowing back my hair
rain falling like tears on my face
you walked away two hours ago
and still i stand here
waiting for you to return
you walked out of site long ago
yet here i stand
like a puppy waiting for its master
i didn't say a word
to try and stop you
and what can you say
when everything you said
is the reason that he walked out
i wont cry
because i know the tears wont bring you back

i know what your thinking
wouldn't i like to exit the rain?
but i don't mind the rain
The wind may be cold
against my uncovered legs
and my bare arms
but the rain wrapped around my body
like a wet blanket
is comforting
a false sense of security
and since my only other security is gone
the rain will do for now

i hear some one calling my name
its him
though i wish it was you
he runs up to me and takes me in his arms
i collapse into his embrace
taking us both to the cold wet ground
but he sits with me
and holds me like you never did

i look up into his deep brown eyes
filled with love and concern
wait...love?
yes love
how did i not notice love in his eyes?
hes my best friend and yet...
i couldn't sense it
but looking into those eyes
i realized something that i hadn't before
i wasn't thinking about you walking away
even though you did
i was imagining him walking away
i was thinking about him leaving me
and i wouldn't be able to live without him

i lean up and press our lips together
he stiffens around me
but finally kisses back
not to much
he probably thinks hes a rebound
i lean back and look up at him again
he looks me in the eye
and sees the love i feel for him
he leans down this time
slowly so i can stop him if i want
i don't stop him
his lips meet mine once more
and our souls become one
as we learn that we are meant to be

and all the heart aches i was feeling only minutes ago
vanish
