Eternity

Once again laying in my bed
Thinking deeply about tomorrow
Peacefully day dreaming
Recovering slightly each day

The bruises on my arms
The tears from my eyes
Tired from the drugs
This is what I lived through

I'm surprised I can close my eyes
Sleeping soundly and quite
I'm surprised I can sleep at all
Living through my life

The cuts and scars
Healed from my skin
But the wounds in my heart
Remain fresh for eternity
