Hope and pain

What is it you have to say
when hope leaves you
when you made plans to be

Pain
how is it people so much
after they get hurt
from the one they love

pain is a part of life
but hurt is the worst thing
one can feel

why is it
people can still smile
after they've been hurt
in the worst way
