To Grow Up

by PygmyPuff   Jun 13, 2007

When you're little
time doesn't come quick enough.
You're always too young,
and never old enough.
Too short.
Too small.
Too young.
And you just can't wait to grow up
and be like your parents
your idols.
Because they can drink
and they can smoke
and do drugs
and be on TV
and drive with the cops.
And you're so jealous
because you have to wait
so long.
You just can't wait
to grow up.

But when you do
grow up
it's like a wave of discomfort.
You're parents are too strict
too overprotective.
too controlling.
And your idols are wasting their life
with handouts.
they can't really sing,
and can't really act.
They think they're better
because they're in the public eye
and that will never be you.
Cancer strikes,
because they smoke
and drink
and do drugs.
And the ride with the cops
is not full of glory.
But now that you're here,
why couldn't you wait
to grow up?

You have definately tap into one of the mysteries of the meaning of life here. I hope you keep a note of this. It will help even later in life, too.
