If only I knew:-

If only I knew,
That it was your last goodbye,
I would have embraced you,
And told you how much I care.

If only I knew,
That it was the last day,
I would have spent the whole day,
With you and cherished it forever.

If only I knew,
That it was the last phone call,
I would have never missed it,
And waited for it whole life.

If only I knew,
That you were tired of walking in the path of life,
I would have carried you,
On my shoulders and taken you through.

If only I knew,
What was within your hidden thoughts,
I would have changed the way,
You think about life.

If only I knew,
This day would come,
I would have mentally prepared myself,
For this shocking moment.

If only I knew,
How much this would hurt,
I would have never called you a friend,
And keep you close to my heart.

Today I stand here
In front of your dead body
And I will noy say goodbye to you
But I promise you that we will meet again.

This poem is dedicated in the demise of my late friend Rohan Salian under mysterious circumstances. Dude life ends but friendship will never!!
