A Memory

by Curtis Ayukawa   Jun 25, 2007

You stare blankly towards the cloudy sky,
Oh why oh why did my lover die.
Questions unanswered and feelings askew,
You hope to yourself this is all untrue.

Darkness consumes your body day by day,
Slowly but surely your fading away.
Blue sky turns lifeless and grey,
As rain descends upon your shattered soul.

The picture in your hand is all that remains,
Teary eyed and saddened your heart is wrapped in chains.
With no more to do but let life go on,
The one you adored is actually gone.

Memories you cherish will always last,
But keep living strong.
Life's always a blast,
And this is where you belong.
