Staring into emptiness

She sits in the dark,
crying herself to sleep.
knowing no one can hear her,
she can't help but weep.

no one has a clue,
how much she bleeds inside.
each tear like a blade slicing her heart,
she wishes the pain would subside.

piece by piece she is falling apart,
regreting having betrayed her better half.
silently yearning to once again,
hear that infectious laugh.

holding the desire to love once again,
she wants to give it a try.
hoping for a second chance.
but forgiveness is a far cry.

fear envelopes her
creating bounderies.
trapped in a world of torment,
she is haunted by her tragedies.

she screams but no one seems to hear her.
lost in her own nightmare,
drowning in her tears.
lost in this abyss for what feels like years.

she stares into the emptiness,
knowing she'll never be whole.
that world is lost now,
and so is her soul.
