Memories Fade (Mirrored Refrain)

by S R P   Jul 15, 2007

Tears fall in the morning sun (x)
Life moves on with all haste (a)
Memories fade inside of infinity (B)
Moments of time better faced. (A)

Love dancing in the light (x)
A bittersweet taste of pity (b)
Moments of time better faced (A)
Memories fade inside of infinity. (B)

Anguish surrounding bitterness (x)
A love not meant to be replaced (a)
Memories fade inside of infinity (B)
Moments of time better faced. (A)

A healing touch reaches the soul (x)
Wounds heal in the face of affinity (b)
Moments of time better faced (A)
Memories fade inside of infinity. (B)

Note: This was my first try at this style of poetry. The style is xaBA, xbAB, xaBA, xbAB, etc. Two lines within the quatrain are called the "mirrored refrain" also called the alternating refrain. x is the only lines that don't rhyme, and A and B represent the refrain. It's quite a confusing structure, so sorry if it's not my greatest piece.
