Together Forever?

"We'll be together forever."
That is what you said, right?
Did you ever stop to think our ties would sever?
Not until the fight.

"I don't think we should be together."
This is one year later.
I said "No, this is just bad weather."
But the pain is getting greater.

"I miss you everyday."
He says to me the next week.
"You should have thought before you sent me away."
I say this as I turn my cheek.

"I miss you, too."
I say it in my mind.
But there is nothing more I can do.
I know I must forget and leave you behind.
