Mannequin

by Sheree Speaks   Jul 18, 2007

Never having a conversation.
Never having true love.
Never having deep thoughts.
Never really having 15 minutes of fame.

Ignored mannequin.
Dusty in the store basement.
Cobwebs.
Dust.

This mannequin has feelings.
This mannequin has love.
This mannequin has dreams.
This mannequin contemplates.

This mannequin has talent.
This mannequin has rhythm.
This mannequin can jive.
This mannequin can sing.

Whistlers walk by the basement window.
Rain falls on the sidewalk.
The sun beats down on the floor.
Traffic noises pollute the air.

And this mannequin listens.
This mannequin hears.
This mannequin feels.
This mannequin knows.

I am a mannequin.
In a store window.
People pass me by.
Little do they know,
This mannequin has soul.
