Dirty Words

by Erin   Jul 26, 2007

She sat down by the old oak tree
And set her chin upon her knees
With stars fighting rainbows above her head
She could have cried but she smiled instead
She was writing simple words in the dirt
But oh they meant so much more to her
She read what read what she had wrote one last time
Glanced upward with tears in her eyes
"well, I hope it doesn't rain"
She whispered to the sky as she drove away

He sat down by the old oak tree
And set his chin upon his knees
He diddidn'tt notice the stars above his head
He was reading the drawn in the dirt instead
"I know I'm running away.
But I really cannot stay
I know that these few words
I scratched in dirt can't stop the hurt
But right now, this is the best I can do
I have to be leaving but I still love you."
