From the Painting Now gone

From the Painting Now Gone

Soundless toes slide on carved wood
Willow arms raised in summer bright
Flesh flushed with lustrous coral beads
String of hair piled in gentle sweeps

Ivory linens embrace the word delicacy
Underneath vigor peeks from a veil
Walls splashed with honeyed dreams
Paintings of art--the body, a craft

Smiles adorn their porcelain faces
Wrists bent like the wings of a swan
Two windows reveal the blooming world
As they bow in silence to discarded elegance
