The love that was frail

Gather around kiddies
for ill tell you a tale
of a girl and a boy
and her love that was frail.

upon going to school
she was giddy and glad
just think of all the new friends shed make
upon arrival she spotted a boy, hair black as spades

she knew of love
and feelings of affection
but this feeling inside was more then that
its was true love, her one true selection.

determined was she
she'd get her boy
but upon meeting, the boy was with foe
her dreams now shattered, her father would not approve, down the drain went her joy.

she did the only thing possible
turned her love to hate
their friendship wasted, their rivalry begun
she failed her father, she did not become friends, now she must wait her fate.

furious was he
to learn of her disgrace
detention already! on the first week of school
she would her his case.

she came to school the next day
face black and blue
people asked but she pushed them off
with the excuse she just had the flue.

no one asked any more questions
all was good, but the one person she loved
taunted and teased
people beat and shoved until she felt unloved.

the years went by
and their rivalry grew
and each night shed get beat
each day came back blue.

one day her teacher saw
the marks left by dad
she phoned the police
and made him mad.

he beat her to a inch of her life
they took him away and locked him up tight
but one thing good came from this
she found a release from this cold trite.

then one day her secret obsession
was found out
they beat her and abused
that day she learned to cut, the blood freed all the doubt.

he soon found out
that her obsession was him
he used it to his advantage
and played her emotions about until it looked grim.

he had his own problem and she could help!
he used her until he was cured
then dumped her like the nothing she was
it was only fair he was assured.

as the days went on
he notice his feelings
he loved her but he hid it well
and worked with his dealings.

months went by and they did not speak
until he saw her being beat by boys
he saw red and attacked
he saved their punching toy.

yet he would still not admit his feelings
for he was ashamed
he asked her why she didn't defend herself
she answered that she wanted to hurt and for death to claim.

nights dreamed by
and he finally found her
she as covered in blood
her world was a blur.

"no its over" with a eerie smile
"I'm over, no more sleepless nights,
no more pain.
and no more emotional fights"

with that she slashed
and ended her life
her body covered in cherry gashes
from the start he caused her strife.

he found out her secret obsession
and caused her grief
he just didn't know how much it really hurt
knowing that the only person she loved was really just a thief.
