Why

Why do you leave me
when you know Im on edge
You carry on pushing
when you know I'll push back
All you do is pull down
the cover of night
When you know the stars
are a reminder of you

I've grown so sick
of this rollercoaster ride
I love the heights
and the broken bones will mend
But your fingers probe
deeper than you'd care to believe
Yet my eyes will stay shut
for the glue holds them there

Put me to bed
like a sick loyal dog
Pull up the covers
right up to my chin
Let me hug myself
into a lull of self loathing
Why do you love me
when you know Im so hard
