The key to my heart
You hold in your hands
But now the thought of you
Is only an echo in my empty heart

My broken heart, I give to you
It's lying at your feet
But you just stand there watching
As the rain washes it away

Acid tears race down my cheeks
A thousand maybe more
Why did you leave me all alone?
Don't you love me anymore?

You said that you loved me
You said you'd never leave
You promised you'd never hurt me
You promised a lot of things

But did you mean a word
Why did you lie so many times?
You broke my heart and walked away
With no sense of regret

And I'm left standing in the pouring rain
You turned you back
On everything we once had
On everything we might have been

You shattered my heart
And still I love you with all the pieces
Why can't I forget about you?
And finally move on to heal my broken heart
