Growing Farther, Not Fonder.

by ABake   Aug 5, 2007

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, is what I heard.
My heart is growing farther not fonder.
This statement, to me is absolutely absurd.

I know I still love you, but the distance is killing me.
You have no problem, your so deep in love.
I am happy, but I miss you, I miss you quite terribly.

I don't want to break up, trust me I don't.
You look at me sadly, then quietly you ask.
"Are you giving up on me?" I promise you, I won't.

I take your hands, and gaze into your eyes.
"It's not over, nor will it be soon."
We knew we would go through this, it is no surprise.

Both of us, have been so caught up, so preoccupied.
"I agree, but remember it's always you and me."
Let's put us first now, no more pushing us to the side.

::Kinda....ugh...but oh well. It was kinda inspired by the whole "absence makes the heart grow fonder thing" Hope you like it::

I thought the flow was great on the first stanza, but then after that I seemed to lose it. It was probably just me though lol. I loved the content and the message. And I agree with the person above me that I love the conversation part.
