Growing up

by Rebecca   Aug 5, 2007

You grow up
so fast
and then you realize
that you wish you hadn't
You hate the responsibility your given
and wish you were a kid again.
When your family were the important ones
and you saw your friends everyday
instead of arguing with you parents
you wish you had fun with them
like you used to back in the day
You hate knowing that they won't always be there
and you can never talk to them like you used to
Now your friends are the important ones
who you can't live without
You begin to wish
that you had never grown up
and you did;t have the responsibilities
you begin to miss everything
everything you did as a child
and the way it was back then
but no matter how hard you wish
you will never be a kid again
everyone has to grow up

Personally, I welcome the responsibilites and challenges of growing up...childhood is fun, it's a time everyone needs, but I'm done with it. Not that I'm saying this isn't a good poem! I like it, it has given my something to think about.
