Rely on yourself

In times of need
The one you look to most
And need by your side
Is the one that you won't be able to find

When they kiss you and promise you
With all there hearts they will be there
Take it as a friendly gesture
Don't take it as the truth

The minute you learn to rely on another
Is the minute before you crumble and fall
They may not mean to deceive you
But in the end they do

In reality if it's there life or yours
Does yours even stand a chance?
We all pretend we're selfless and we care
But very few of us really do

If you think about all the people you know
I bet you can't think of three people you would leave work for
Or one person you would drive an hour for
Just to cuddle them and tell them it will be okay

You can only rely on yourself
There's no such thing as unbreakable trust
Mutual trust is just a relationship with believable lies
Even trusting yourself is a risky idea

Expect the worst of people and you'll never be disappointed
Never trust a soul and you'll never be lied to
Don't rely on anyone to help you
Because deep down no one really cares

They just pretend they care because they feel responsible
It's all just to save face
So if you can't pick yourself back up
Give up because no one else will
