Never Thought

I had never thought,
I would have to say goodbye.
Before the last words were spoken,
You had gone away.

I had never spoken the words,
Which I always wanted to say.
But I guess it's too late now,
To have you back here with me.

Here is what I always see,
That you are in front of me.
Never thought I had to see this day.
And leave you in your way.

But I just can't seem to get you,
Out of my mind.
What you had done to me.
I am about to go blind.

But time heals everything.
Sometimes I wish I had it my way.
Perhaps I won't get to see this day.
