You were apart of my life once,
I could hold you in my arms,
We would laugh together,
You would look at me with love,
Your eyes the entrance to your soul,

I remember when you were next to me,
I remember when we smiled together,
I remember when we were there for each other,
I remember when i looked after you,

The times we spent together,
Now seem not long enough,
I just want kiss your cheek once more,
Hug you once more,
Joke with you once more,
See you face once more,

I need to feel that you are still with me,
Even in spirit,
I need to know you are there,
Protecting me,
Loving me with your whole heart,

I feel your presence around me,
I turn to look but you are not there,
I couldn't imagine you not in my life,
But it has now been 3 years,
I still don't believe you are gone,

Why cant i accept that you are not here,
That you will not come back,
I will only see you when i see that bright light,
I think of you all day and night,
You are never out of my mind,

I love you Nan,
I always will,
I hope you are happy where you are.
