Immortality

by Helene   Aug 17, 2007

If only you could live forever,

Your smile would never fade away,

You wouldn't ever have to die,

I wouldn't ever have to cry.

Please forgive the things I've done,

I ended up the lonely one,

I now regret, I hope you know,

That I will never let you go.

The angels weep with me tonight,

As you linger in the shadows,

I know how long you've fought this fight,

cause you just can't say goodbye.

Your breath must hurt,

And you cry of fear,

I whisper to remind you I'm always here.

Don't talk; I hold your hand so tight,

As I sing this last sad lullaby.

Someway you'll always live forever,

A rose is carved on your tombstone,

I know that we can't be together,

And I know you left me all alone.

You're the shadow in the Darkness,

Looking out into the light,

And you linger in my memory,

As the angels weep with me tonight..

Yours
