In the Wave of All That's Passed

by TamborineMan   Aug 22, 2007

His eyes move with a slow shiver,
They feel the chill of his soul.

In stillness, the water ripples,
to dampen a heart grown cold.

His mind's forlorn abandon,
composes a melody in discord
To the beat, his feet do shuffle,
all things, but the river, ignored

Along the slim bank, he wanders
as the darkened heavens pass by.
His heart and eyes resist him,
in the calm of the night, he cries.

Sky above, stirs with thunder.
Earth below, littered with moors.
Despair drowns all desire.
Lonely tears wed murky shores.

Though his eyes no longer tremble,
to the tune, his feet still roar.

Unto the fields, he does surrender,
where his heart shall beat no more.
