I lay awake..

I lay awake in my bed at night.
The tears I hold back are hard to fight.
When I think upon the upcoming day,
and what my heart just wants to say.

It's hard to go back to sleep,
because all my soul can do is weep.
When I can't even look at my own reflection,
because throughout my life Ive lost direction

I lie in bed until the sky is bright.
I try to convince myself that today will be alright.
When I drift into a nightmare of what it will really be.
Like a small little boat in the middle of the stormy sea.

    I completely fell in love with this poem even from the title. i haven't been able to sleep lately and this bascially expressed almost everything i'm feeling when i do try to sleep. silence is horrible. great poem. i'm adding it to my favorites :)

    Sad poem. it has a good message to it though... alot of people go through this all the time and yet they cant find ways to look past it. but sad poem but also good poem.

    Woow that was a really good poem even though it was short i really liked it and i know how you feel i do that all the time and lay there and just think good job 5/5
