A sun-bright light

by Bryan Berry   Aug 27, 2007

A form of beauty that never came my way
a sun-bright light that never brightened my day
being the same in heart but not in place
perfection shows in every glance at her face

she lies there content and with a smile
while i'm just staring all the while
she'll never know what goes through my head
and i'll bring my secrets with me when i'm dead

thoughts of her bring music to my ears
it's a song that's been hidden for these 19 years
my soul she graces with the most sacred form of art
and i wish from the start that we were never apart

her voice makes the air hot as red steel
and my heart soon has that same exact feel
heaven will be in my dreams this lonely night
dreams of a sun-bright light that came to my mind
