Sad Beauty

by Sachi   Aug 27, 2007

She walks along the path
Her elegant frame aloof
Her arresting eyes filled
Were they tears that doomed?

Divine angel she was
Miserable through and through
Heavenly charm she eluded
But was it just sadness in true?

She wasnt a damsel in disgrace
Nor was she a wasted maid
Charming was her aura
But was it her heart shouting rue?

Winsome lass she was
With ever-alluring ways
She walked with grandeur
But was it pride or pain?

Melancholy was her face
With exquisite outlines that glazed
Delightful was her charm
But was it a forlorn tale?

Strong was her grace
And polished were her traits
The sea of tears running
But was it true or fake?

Dejected were her hopes
Wretched was her fate
But the loveliness remained
Her beauty couldn't fade.

Heartrending condition she faced
But with an avant-garde she played
Inconsolable eyes and desolate state
But would she ever acknowledge this pain?

Gloomy became her features
Distorted with agony and ache
She fought this battle
But was it just in vain?

Beauty she was
Beauty she will remain
Through anguish and through heartache
But was it too high a price to pay?

Wow! That was beautifully sad. It felt pained. I really liked the feelings it eminated. Your words also painted a very sad image in my head...but they painted it well. I like how you dont use a rhyming scheme which makes your poetry seem so different from the usual run of the mill poems. Keep it up!
