He Visits

by Deana   Sep 2, 2007

Under the shade of an old oak
A grave marker stands
No one visits anymore
Except the handsome dark stranger
With daisies in his hands

He lays them gently and whispers
These are for you
I know how much you loved them
When the summer skies were blue

A warm gentle breeze caresses his hair
Like an angels breath Watching over him up there
Every summer he came here and stood
Whispered I love you,Just like he said he would

He would close his eyes
and hear her sweet voice say
This love I have for you
Not even death can take away

I am forever with you
So you always will be loved
My heart is yours forever
Sealed by stars above

He remembered her words
Live your life ,be happy and free
You made my life complete
In the love you gave to me

Great write! I do have a comment for this one...have you thought of dropping the "up there" in the third stanza? I don't think it would alter the feeling and it might add to an already awesome flow.
    Are you really only 1???
I really enjoy reading your work after plowing through some of the High School work students ask me to read..they know not about rythm and rhyme is alien to most.

I almost wonder if you have seen this "stranger" before. Is this something you imagine or some other real experience? It is the fact that this could be reality that enthralls me.
