What is this Fear?

by Arun Khan   Sep 4, 2007

What is this fear?
I cannot taste it
I cannot see it
What is this fear?
I cannot breathe it
And yet something says I can feel it

What is this fear?
It's not a fruit you cannot peel it
It's not a great monster
You can't lock it away and seal it
But somehow something says you can feel it

What is this fear ?
Is it the buggy man in the closet?
The lonely echoes in a ghost hall
Is it the witch's laugh?
Or the wolf man's howl
It's none of these things
Well then is it the sound of the graveyard bells
That irony sound of their clings

What is this fear ?
Is it something within us both
Is it something that feeds
Upon our soar dry throats.
What is this fear?
We cannot see it
We cannot taste it
But something tells me it has always been right here.
