Tainted wings

by stuart s   Sep 9, 2007

I can see my tainted wings
They are broken and have been shred
Ripped to pieces by this venom called life
Now my meaning is dead

I need a new calling
A new reason for life
What on this world
Will prevent me from using this knife

To cut out my heart
And rip it into two
To show all my love
For a beauty like you

You are my calling in life
The reason I am complete
I no longer need those tainted wings
To make me fly

I can soar into the heavens above
Just wrapped inside your love
That is the only thing I ask for
Your love and nothing more

Your bittersweet kiss
Would keep me alive
Your warming embrace
Would help me sleep at night

But I know this may never come true
So the point of this poem is this
My tainted wings are not real
But every feeling for you is
