Burners

by resisting reason   Sep 13, 2007

We put the flame
onto our skin
until it blisters and swells
the winds of change
come again
and give us a taste of hell
the pain comes
in a steady flow
as the flesh breaks and bleeds
and only when we're done
do we know
the horror of our disease
but the wounds always heal
and the scars come in dark
to show us that the pain never lasts
we will always remember to feel
the horrible disgusting marks
so we'll never forget our past

I think the end was the stogest part. its tragically beautiful. this was true excellence. the conclusion was strong and powerful and really made me think.
