Though obviously a song, this works well as a poem also (as many songs do). I like the my friend phrase as love is so much stronger when based in friendship. The wording on this though somewhat simple (which is meant as a good thing) nonetheless carries such deep, heart-felt emotions. An excellent piece that truly says so much. So are you going to record this as a song?

I like it as a poem, it kind of has this beat going on with it.
I'm not quite sure if I'd like it as a song because I don't really care for songs that repeat themselves, but who knows until I hear it right?
Overall, you did a great job, babe. I really, really liked the flow of the poem, it was perfect. The words seemed to be correct, of course. You've been doing this for years.. So, I knew it would be just about perfect before I read it.
I'm glad, though. (:
