What were you thinking?

What were you thinking when you got into that car drinking?

what was on your mind, as you were speeding and swerving, coming up to vehicles from behind?

what were you laughing about with your friends, as you carelessly drove in sin?

what were you screaming and throwing as you pasted by cars, and you pressed the gas petal more with no regard?

what would you have felt as a lil girl or boy sitting in the passenger seat staring with beautiful open eyes, as you drove directly towards them, could you hear her cries!?!?

what would you have felt as a mother or father staring over their son or daugther crying, with their lil hands holding on, but inside their slowly dying......

what would you say as you step up to the judge, and stare into the eyes of the parents as they try their hardest to hold back their tears and grudge?

what would you change if you could go back in time and think, if i were you...i never would have taken a drink.......

this is for all the people who drive drunk, and this story isnt a personal thing that has happened to me, but i know in this world we live in it has happened already. please people if you decide to drink....dont drive. its just that simple

    This poem made me cry. your so true saying this has happend b4. my cuzin was in critcal condition for a while n dies 3 times but was brough back to life. all cause of a driver drinkin and ran into him head on.,, thank u so much for writin this poem!!! i rated this a 5. keep up the good work

    dat was a beautiful poem you actually had something to say a message to get across to ppl who don't think abot the concequences & wat der actions could do to others. Loved it!

    The heart behind this poem was big.
    A few things like spelling could be changed,
    but other than that, this poem was amazing.
    Recently, my friend was hurt and is still in the hospital,
    A boy that had been drinking and driving a motorcycle hit her,
    and now she has head injuries.
    That boy was only 16, and now he is dead.
    What people do still amazes me.
