Peace???

Once,a lone man stood
Between a mosque,a temple and a church
Crying out to Allah,Bhagwan,the Holy Spirit
When suddenly,the flock of angry worshippers
Came out with a lurch
All shocked at his audacity
Wondering how he could
Commit such blasphemy as to utter
The name of their lord
With that of others
They hit and kicked and thrashed him
Decried his heinous crime, his unpardonable sin
Beaten and broken,
he was left-
In no condition to be recognized even by his kin

A long time hence,a man will stand
Alone
Between a mosque,a temple and a church
Crying out--
While their faces,bullet marked and bomb blackened
Stare at him,unseeing,gaunt
To Allah,the holy Spirit and Bhagwan
For world peace-
And this time,perhaps,
The Gods will hear his prayer
For there will be no voices to drown out his own.
