Friend - A Ballad

by Bhavin   Sep 21, 2007

Once a little boy, roaming here and there
With blue eyes, curly hair and the skin being fair
Went up the mountain to commit suicide
Reason being the treachery and he couldn't fight.

One step ahead and he would die
He knew that none were behind him to cry
Before he jumped, he heard a voice
Giving him life's or death's choice.

Soon a questionnaire was about to start
Where both would listen to each other by heart
It was the Angel who asked question one
"Why perish from the world full of fun?"

Boy gave the answer full of fear
His sorrow was visible by looking at his tear
He answered the angel by joining his hands
"Oh Dear Angel! I was ditched by my friends."

"My friends were my world who made me bright
But they gave me sorrows and encouraged my fright
Oh Angel! Why did you stop me from my task?"
This was the query that the little boy asked.

Cleverly, He answered the boy's questionnaire
"Ruining your life is not the thing fair
Friends are not those who leave you in sorrow
But the ones who brighten your life of tomorrow."

The little boy asked, "Where can be that person
Looks not necessary but his wits being awesome?"
Angel felt that the sorrow had been slain
As there was not present any sign of pain.

"This is what I cannot answer," the Angel replied
"As you have to find this enhancer but not by suicide."
Jumped the little boy to fulfill his quest
Knowing no direction whether east or west.

Then he got a great little friend
Who promised to be his companion till the end
And this was how his sorrows flew
When there came a friend just like YOU!
