Giving it a go

My partner now knows I don't love him ,
and there is someone else I have feelings for.
Yet still he says he loves me very much ,
and wants things to be how they were before.
Since everything came out into the open ,
there have been days we've talked all night.
He says hes partly to blame and has pushed me away ,
wants a chance to change and put things right.
I'm giving him the chance he wants ,
because I owe to the kids to give it a go.
The kids are my life and its them who keep me strong ,
maybe one day my feelings for my partner will once again grow.
