The Flowering Vine

by Naila   Sep 24, 2007

I looked around and I saw
The flowering vine
Crawling,creeping,snaking across the earth
Or maybe adorning a home and hearth
The flowering vine
Creeping up,slow and still,
Creeping up,along the till-
The flowering vine
Bright flowers spread, the very picture of health
Can its beauty mask its filth?-
The flowering vine
Slithering up,around my neck,its vice-like grip
Choking me,choking-till I am limp-
The flowering vine
Crawling,creeping,snaking across me
Adorning,binding me like a twine
Creeping up,its bright flowers hiding my body
I look around and can only see
The flowering vine.
