Fallen Hero

by Pixxie Rebel   Sep 30, 2007

The hero wins,
The crowd cheers his success.
They wait for him at the finish line,
Applauding his every move.

The hero comes in second,
The crowd gives a smaller cheer.
They cheer him along the sidelines,
Not waiting for him at the end.

The hero makes third place,
The crowd no longer cheers.
They watch him from the stands,
No one notices when he finishes.

The hero comes in last,
There's no one left to cheer.
The crowd has long forgotten,
Moved on to someone new.

Great poem!! love that you show one of the biggest weakness that the public has. they are always bored in the end they want something better!! they are never satisfied and show it in a cruel way as you have showed in your poem!! great job!!
