Can You Understand?

It was perfect for the moment
I got caught up in your eyes
It was perfect every time
You held me in your arms
It was perfect
Until you made up your mind

You said that we were different
This could not be true
I tried to find the ways
Only to find my way back to you

Now I stumble in circles
Unsure of where to go
Our paths, they once crossed
Only to be led apart
How can I sit here and let it melt away

I want to keep those memories
Of all that we shared
We do have a connection
A bond that can not compare

Better off as friends, I said
And that I do believe
I can not loose you
Not again

I can only hope you understand
How I need you here to be my friend

    Sometimes being someones friend is all that we can be and although it may hurt, friendship can grow deeper over time and it's worth waiting for

    Another good one! now we all know why poets go through bad things, to get these great poems... any who... i know what you mean having some one just be friends so that you don't lookse them all together, i guess that if you go out with some one then that person is your life and knows you so well that not having that person that knows so well lets you feel left with no one. that why a break up hurts so bad.

    This is a deep poem....sometimes its hard to have deep feelings for soemone who doesnt have them as deep back for you....but as you said its better off to have someone just as friends rather then lose them all together ..
