Consternation

by Wings Of Flames   Oct 4, 2007

In these walls I am muffled,
That support the dark,
I cannot contain,
How much I embark,

Mother mother please,
Merely I do regret,
Although I am unsure,
Final goodnight will set?

Awaken all my trepidation,
Ignite the vengeance,
Tonight will be the last,
You've taken my last chance,

Light has been stolen,
Through my heavy tears,
Each for the purple flowers,
Blooming in my fears,

Fallen are these soldiers,
As you take my youth,
The poppy tied to me,
Surely is that proof?

I dream of the day,
The night I will take,
Is it all I hope for,
When my time will break?

For everything you've done,
Everytime I shook loose,
Every scar we both created,
Every choking noose,

I cannot leave these oceans,
That drain from my eye,
Until I finally leave the world,
I await the day I die.

    Excellent!

it was a great piece! Lines were well expressed and it rhymes too. Too emotional piece!

    Keep it up!

Even though this is a sad piece it was beautifully written. It flowed smoothly and was almost soothing to read. I found the ending stanza really strong and your imagery so lovely.
