Another Day

by Broken Inside   May 4, 2004

This isn’t another poem about a boy,

This time, it’s about joy.

But as everyone knows,

Joy comes with pain,

And it’ll always be the same.

This one is about my grandparents,

The first,

My grandpa,

Who is with us no more.

His character rocked the world.

He died in 1998,

Of a terrible fate.

The next, about my grandma.

Oh, how I adored her.

She could brighten any day.

With her carefree mind and happy times,

It’s no wonder why I miss her.

She died in 2001,

It felt like I’d been hit with a gun.

I didn’t want her to leave,

We had no idea it was her time to go,

When she died, it was beyond our control.

The last being my grandma Rose,

Who is still with us today.

With her gentle heart.

I couldn’t bare to lose her too,

It just wouldn’t be fair.

Through all the bad times and stuff,

My family has still stood tough,

If something bad happened,

I know we’ll be okay,

Because all it is,

Is another day.
