I give up

Why cant they just be happy,
That I have someone that loves me
Do they really want to know me,
Or am I just supposed to become who,
They want me to be?

There is so much confusion of what is to come
They claim they want me to open up,
Yet when I tell them of who I am
They act like they dont want to hear it.

I wish they would decide what it is they want,
So they want me to be happy
But As long as hes not in my life?
How can I bee happy when they take him from me?

Their expectations have always been high
Im so tired of trying to do right by them
It never seems to change, no matter how hard I try,
I just wish theyd accept me for me!
