Someone who isn't me

by Jubes   Oct 19, 2007

Why does someone so right have to be so wrong

Sometimes I close my eyes and wish he never came along

I kiss him with my lips every part is different
Once is never enough so I kiss him lots and lots

I know him with my eyes shut I know him in the dark I run my fingers over him with a silent promise to his heart

That I will love him even when the time comes for me to go and us to be apart

I listen to him breath as he holds me tight and I smile because there is nowhere I'd rather be

When he falls asleep my heart begins to cry
A single tear burns down my face and I wipe it with a sigh

This boy means the world to me he is every breath I take but It won't last forever

Every night I wonder if this will be the last time our bodies curl up as one

He holds me tight but his heart is free
for he has already chosen and its someone who isn't me.

I'm sorry to hear this, but as you say, lessons have been learnt, so it was a worthwhile experience. Life is a lesson.

I often read over my old work - its good to see how far we've come.

This poem sings of helpless love. Do you still know this man? Sometimes, time creates opportunities to seek your destiny?

We are not together but I still have love in my heart for him even though I haven’t seen him in 9 years. I will never forget him but also learnt a lot of lessons from him. It was never meant to be. Thank you for your reply :) it’s very interesting to read back over such old poems.
