Drops of salty sorrow (edited)

by Jubes   Sep 9, 2006

I used to lie awake and think about tomorrow
that¢??s when my tears would fall
drops of salty sorrow

The thick green goo that suffocated me at night
would be cleaned up by morning
I would appear happy and bright

No one knew of my pain
or my drops of salty sorrow
the ones that would come at night
when I thought of my tomorrow

The darkness that consumed me
it took away my light
all that I could see
was the blackness of night

The cycle goes on
moving up and down
pushing me hard and rough
as I land on the ground

then lifting me off the cold dirt
with a hard smack in the face
I cover my hurt

Tonight is stormy and dark
I can¢??t see the moon
the one that gives the clouds
that silver lining loom

It looks stormy now
and the black clouds choke
the thunder and lightning
dark thoughts are provoked

After the dark
and after the storm
the sun will come through
and line the dark clouds I once knew

Today I am smiling
with the thought of tomorrow
no more tears
no more salty sorrow

I know of this feeling. I have cried myself to sleep, thinking there can't be any hope. Exhausted, I eventually sleep and that is when the rejuvenating effects of sleep and the rising sun take effect.

It looks like the formatting needs attention. Now, this site has been revamped, this should be easy enough.

Yes! This is my first time back in about 12 years so it’s interesting to see all of this :). Thank you! I am enjoying reading some of your work. I haven’t written anything in a long long time.
